The New 2019 BMW 8 Series Model Test Drive
The camouflage has come off! BMW has revealed its new 8 Series coupe, currently spearheaded by the M850i (an M8 model is in the pipeline).
Due to be launched in November 2018 the initial lineup will include two models: the M850i xDrive Coupe M Performance V8 and the 840d xDrive Coupe with six-cylinder in-line diesel. The 4.4 liter TwinPower Turbo V8 develops 390 kW/530 hp and sends 750 Nm of torque to all 4 wheels via an eight-speed Steptronic transmission.
Acceleration for the M850i is quoted as 3.7 seconds for the 0 – 100 km/h (62 mph) sprint with a top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
Features include a Head-Up display as standard, BMW’s “Live Cockpit Professional, glass applications for the gear lever, trim surfaces in steel mesh and newly developed multi-functional seats.
